Wexford to make a big splash for National Services Day at Maritime Festival

This year’s Maritime Festival in Wexford will showcase an Emergency Services & Rescue Village to coincide with National Services Day on Saturday.

Emergency, medical, search & rescue, voluntary and reserve services will be on display at Wexford Quay from 11am to 6pm this weekend alongside other organisations.

In addition to the Rescue Village, there will also be an On-Sea Rescue demonstration at 3pm on Sunday following a Stunt Airshow.

In previous years, many of the services participated at the festivals but this is the first-year event organisers will host National Services Day in its line-up.

National Services Day celebrates, promotes, and showcases all the work, efforts and commitment of our frontline, emergency and voluntary services with events taking place across the country. In Wexford, the event will include displays from the Defence Forces, Irish Air Corps, An Garda Síochána, National Ambulance Service, Wexford Fire Service, the HSE, RNLI, Irish Coast Guard, Wexford Civil Defence, Irish Water Safety and many other local community groups.
