Irish Red Cross raising funds for permanent base in Waterford City

Fundraising efforts are underway in Waterford City to provide Irish Red Cross with a purpose building.

Irish Red Cross do some tremendous work in the community and have been volunteering in Waterford City for the past 80 years. The branch needs a permanent building so they can continue to provide a service to their community when requested to do so.

The organisation has assisted in severe storms, floods and it continues to provide support during the current COVID-19 pandemic. They need a purpose or permanent building to manage their weekly training meetings for seniors and youth and to continue providing its First Aid and life-saving training courses.

The volunteers will be able to continue to support other local groups by helping the community with patient transfers, delivering food hampers, shoe box appeals and toys to children at Christmas time. They will also be able to manage their duties much better and run events like Wintervile elves workshop.

The Waterford City Red Cross are also hoping to be able to open their premises to other support groups and are looking for donations from the public to help their cause.   Link to Fund page here
