Garda Armed Support Unit intercept Dundalk ATM raiders

Gardaí are investigating the thefts of two ATM’s from banks on main street, Dundalk, Co. Louth overnight.

Two vehicles were set alight at Dundalk garda station in an effort to hinder the Garda response to the incidents. The incidents occurred around 3.30am

Raisers were intercepted by the Garda Armed Support Unit which led to a traffic pursuit that crossed the border into Northern Ireland.

Gardaí and the PSNI are working closely as part of the investigation.

Three raisers were arrested in County Armagh and two ATM’s were recovered.

Another car was found burnt out at Deerpark, Bellurgan which gardaí are also investigating.
